Relive yuletides of yesteryear as we revitalize the tradition of decorating ornaments with pins, beads, and sequins. It’s fun, it’s easy, and it’s a little bit kitschy! About the Instructor

Abby Langdon

Abby Langdon is a textile artist with more than 15 years of experience creating fiber art in fun, innovative ways.  Her career began on the indie craft show circuit in 2008 when she opened her business, abbydid, where she designed and produced plush creatures, mainly monsters, which now dwell (harmlessly) in homes around the world and have been featured in quite a few publications.  This focus eventually evolved into 2D and 3D fiber art that appeared in gallery shows, art fairs, and commercially commissioned settings.  Langdon's techniques and focus are ever-evolving, and now include a millinery business of handmade hats and accessories incorporating traditional techniques.

Throughout Abby Langdon’s time as an artist, she has remained passionate about sharing her knowledge and experience with the community.  She has been teaching workshops in hand and machine stitching to adults, teens, and kids for over a decade and has enjoyed the mentoring relationships she has developed immensely.  Having fun, bringing a touch of lighthearted irreverence to the work, stoking the creative fire within, and fostering community through art is of the utmost importance to her.
