Description


In each session, original stories will be told then acted out, with everyone invited to pretend and bring the story to life. The young actors can then become Story-Builders with their ideas coming to life through the power of pretend.Themes for stories may include: Magic Forest, Pet Adventures, Funny Family, Going to the Beach, Zooey Animals, and/or The Farm.

Ages

2-4 with a grown-up

Grown-ups must stay with their little one throughout the class.

About the Instructor

Russell White

Russell's love for theatre and storytelling is woven throughout his professional career. After graduating with his BA in theatre from The College of Wooster, Russell went on to get his MFA in acting from the University of Iowa. After an internship at Cleveland Playhouse, Russell joined Madcap Puppet Theatre as an actor/puppeteer, set builder, and residency artist. Russell toured throughout our region and the Midwest for 11 years, bringing stories to life and delighting audiences of all ages. Russell then enjoyed 21 years as the Creative Dramatics teacher at The Seven Hills School. With students from the "Beginnings" and early childhood programs to both Doherty and Lotspeich elementary schools and the summer camp programs, Russell's classes ranged from acting, storytelling and improvisation to playwriting and puppetry. Since retiring from Seven Hills, Russell has worked for WordPlay, Kennedy Heights Arts Center, and Clifton Cultural Arts Center sharing his passion and his art with many more children and families.
