Are you ready to imagine, explore, collaborate, and create through the magic of acting? If so, you are invited to join The Acting Lab. In addition to developing the actor’s tools (body, voice, imagination, concentration and cooperation), LAB actors are welcomed into the world of improvisation which is a style of acting that encourages quick-thinking, flexibility, and spontaneity. Tapping into each actor’s inner well of creativity is the goal as these young artists develop and become confident, expressive and imaginative performers. The LAB awaits!
Ages 9 – 11
Mimi Richmond and Russell White
Russell White and Mimi Richmond are partners in life and in their art. They met in a play and their lives together since then have always included theatre. After graduating from The College of Wooster, they went onto the University of Iowa where Russell earned an MFA in Acting, and Mimi, an MFA in Directing. They brought their own unique talents to their years with Madcap Puppet Theatre. After Madcap, Russell spent 21 years as the Creative Dramatics teacher working with acting, playwriting, improv, and puppetry with grades pre-K to 5th at The Seven Hills School. Mimi taught acting and puppetry classes for Uptown Arts before returning to school to become a counselor and drama therapist. Both bring their passion and belief in the power of theatre into their teaching, collaborations, and other creative ventures.
With Fair Share Pricing, CCAC is eliminating the need for scholarship applications so that everyone has access to the arts and can express themselves. If you are unable to pay the full tuition amount, simply choose one of the provided scholarship levels. If you are in a position to pay more, we encourage you to select the Supporter Level or to make a donation upon checkout. You can find guidance HERE on which tuition level we suggest, but the decision is up to you — we will never ask for additional verification or paperwork
Support for the Fair Share Pricing program comes from the Gerald H. Fitzgerald Scholarship Fund and contributors like you.
