Abby Langdon
Abby Langdon is a textile artist with more than 15 years of experience creating fiber art in fun, innovative ways. Her career began on the indie craft show circuit in 2008 when she opened her business, abbydid, where she designed and produced plush creatures, mainly monsters, which now dwell (harmlessly) in homes around the world and have been featured in quite a few publications. This focus eventually evolved into 2D and 3D fiber art that appear in gallery shows, art fairs, and commercially commissioned settings. Langdon's techniques and focus are ever-evolving, and now include a millinery business of handmade hats and accessories incorporating traditional techniques.

Students will learn how to start a basket, build structure, shape, and finish their form, while exploring the history and cultural significance of handwoven vessels. This tactile, slow craft encourages patience, focus, and a deep connection to materials.
