Join instructor and comic artist Sarah Hynfield for a thoughtful discussion on how comics can powerfully explore themes like compassion, empathy, mental health, peace, and justice. We'll look at how these important topics are represented through storytelling and visual art—and how comics can help us connect with others’ experiences and emotions in meaningful ways.

Sarah Hynfield and SOS Art
SOS ART Cincinnati is a nonprofit organization that uses the arts as powerful tools to promote peace and justice in the Greater Cincinnati area. Founded in 2003 as a local art exhibit and festival, SOS ART has grown into a vibrant community initiative that includes exhibitions, educational programs, workshops, and publications. Since gaining nonprofit status in 2015, the organization has expanded its reach, especially through youth engagement, linking artistic expression to the teaching of core human values. SOS ART empowers artists of all ages to use their voices through creative expression and builds a collaborative community committed to social change. With over 3,000 visual artists, 700 poets, and numerous schools involved, the organization continues to inspire dialogue, compassion, and action through art.
With Fair Share Pricing, CCAC is eliminating the need for scholarship applications so that everyone has access to the arts and can express themselves. If you are unable to pay the full tuition amount, simply choose one of the provided scholarship levels. If you are in a position to pay more, we encourage you to select the Supporter Level or to make a donation upon checkout. You can find guidance HERE on which tuition level we suggest, but the decision is up to you — we will never ask for additional verification or paperwork
Support for the Fair Share Pricing program comes from the Gerald H. Fitzgerald Scholarship Fund and contributors like you.
Please contact Clifton Cultural Arts Center if you have any questions.
