Melinda Welch
Melinda E. Welch earned her Master’s degree and teaching license in Art Education from the University of Cincinnati’s school of Design Architecture, Art and Planning. Melinda’s Masters thesis focused on developing a visual arts curriculum for a community arts center.
Currently, Melinda is teaching for the Clifton Cultural Arts Center and leading art classes at Bridgeway Pointe, UC Health, an assisted living residence.
Melinda’s teaching experience includes 14 years as Art Director at the Wyoming Fine Arts Center. While Art Director, she developed her vision for a visual art community driven by a strong, cohesive art curriculum and relationships with her students and families. She sought to connect with surrounding communities by integrating free art programming through connections with local schools, libraries and recreation centers. She often collaborates with diverse music teachers, and other non-profit organizations such as Elementz and BioKoto.
While in graduate school, she was employed by Kennedy Heights Art Center to teach adult and youth art classes. She also taught after-school art at Pleasant Ridge Montessori and the Pleasant Ridge Library. Her student teaching experience includes Walnut Hills High School, Sherwood Elementary, North Avondale Montessori, and Anderson High School. For the Contemporary Art Center, she taught an arts integration curriculum at Bond Hill Elementary. For the CAC she also led art programing at various local schools and in the UNMuseum. She has completed internships at the Cincinnati Art Museum, the Taft Museum of Art, Manifest Gallery and Prairie Gallery. She was part of a youth community photography program in conjunction with Happen Inc, Prairie Gallery and the Mill Creek Restoration Project.
Melinda is an active and experienced artist who works in ceramics, photography, collage and whatever else strikes her artistic fancy. She and her husband reside in Camp Washington with their two children.

Deb Brod
Deb Brod enjoys teaching art and sharing her love of art-making and its countless therapeutic effects with people of all ages. She has taught and led community-based art projects through the Ohio Arts Council, community arts centers, schools, art museums, and many other organizations. She has created artwork for commissions (including for the Taft Museum of Art and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital), and exhibited her artwork made with many media and approaches including painting, textiles, and installation in the midwest (including at Cincinnati’s Contemporary Arts Center) and occasionally other parts of the country and the world. In college, she studied French, art history, and fine art, culminating in a masters degree in fine art in painting. Although her work often appears abstract or non-representational the sources of her inspiration draw on both her inner life and the outer world and range from nature to human nature.

Blast off into creativity with our Out of This World Family Art Time! This exciting workshop invites families to embark on a cosmic journey as you create your very own galactic masterpieces. Each family member will receive a circle canvas to create a galatic paint pour project. But that's not all! While your paint pours dry, you’ll have the chance to build your own alien or a pastel galaxy drawing.
Jessica Geary
Jessica Geary has been sharing her love for art with students for 11 years. She has experience teaching preschool, after-school programming, and a variety of art classes. Jessica is passionate about helping students discover their own creative spark and strives to make art fun and accessible for everyone. She delights in seeing students explore different mediums, from drawing to sculpture and everything in between.
Jessica believes art is about expressing individuality and experimenting with new ideas. Her classes focus on building skills while encouraging each student to develop their unique style. She is dedicated to guiding and supporting students as they take creative risks and find joy in their artistic journey.
When she’s not teaching, Jessica enjoys spending time in local coffee shops, embracing her role as a mom to four children, cherishing moments with friends and family, and pursuing her own artistic endeavors. Always eager to learn new things, she brings that enthusiasm back to the classroom to inspire her students.

Join us for a fun and creative family workshop, Foil Embossing Family Mobile! In this engaging session, families will come together to explore the art of foil embossing while creating a stunning mobile that showcases everyone’s unique designs. Each family member will have the opportunity to craft their own foil embossing, using a variety of tools and techniques to create intricate patterns and textures. Once your beautiful embossings are complete, we’ll assemble them into a whimsical mobile that hangs from a decorated stick, adding a personalized touch to your home decor.

This hands-on workshop invites families to explore the exciting possibilities of 3D printing technology while learning to design and create their own unique projects using 3D printer pens.
During this workshop, each family member will receive their own 3D printer pen to use (or one to share). Our instructor will guide you through the basics of operating the pens, from setting up to creating stunning 3D shapes and designs. You’ll have the freedom to let your imagination soar as you create everything from colorful sculptures to intricate designs.
Mandolin Schreck
Mandolin Schreck is an accomplished artist and educator with a degree in Architecture and Fine Art from DAAP, where they graduated in 2019. With a passion for inspiring young minds, Mandolin has spent three summers running DAAP camps for kids and has also led the summer Design Lab for two years. Their diverse experience includes working in art galleries and over five years as an assistant in various art studios, where they have developed skills across multiple mediums such as 3D modeling, ceramics, mold-making, printmaking, pastel work, and film photography.

Have fun as a family creating art together each month. Each Second Saturday, join us for a morning workshop designed for children, adults, and friends to work together on. One registration covers the entire family! (Each group must contain at least one adult.)
