Description

Does your child dream of spinning tales that dance off the page and onto the stage? At Page to Stage, young creators will discover how to transform their own written tales into dynamic performances and beautiful books, blending vivid storytelling with imaginative art and compelling acting. Throughout this weeklong exploration, campers will develop characters, experiment with storytelling techniques, and craft the worlds their heroes and heroines inhabit. Supported by encouraging instructors, they’ll learn to communicate their ideas, collaborate with others, and bring their visions to life in surprising and delightful ways.

About the Instructors

Mimi Richmond + Russell White are partners in life and in their art. They met in a play and their lives together since then have always included theatre. After graduating from The College of Wooster, they went onto the University of Iowa where Russell earned an MFA in Acting, and Mimi, an MFA in Directing. They brought their own unique talents to their years with Madcap Puppet Theatre. After Madcap, Russell spent 21 years as the Creative Dramatics teacher working with acting, playwriting, improv and puppetry with grades pre-K to 5th at The Seven Hills School. Mimi taught acting and puppetry classes for Uptown Arts before returning to school to become a counselor and drama therapist. Together, Russell and Mimi have led puppetry and acting summer camps for Kennedy Heights Arts Center, Seven Hills School, and Clifton Cultural Arts Center. Both bring their passion and belief in the power of theatre into their teaching, collaborations, and other creative ventures.

Miranda Burke is the creator and founder of DearDotNettieMae Theater Productions, established in 2008. Miranda attended Wright State University where she studied in their Theater, Dance and Motion Picture Department. In the fall of 2020, Miranda was accepted into the University of Cincinnati, and earned a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Through this program, she was able to discover how her interests in theater and education were able to collide. Today, DearDotNettieMae Theater Productions creates murder mystery dinner experiences while continuing to bring awareness to the stigma surrounding mental health. Miranda wants to also provide a network for all the actors and creators so that they can receive mental health services if they ever need to. While the murder mystery experiences are the focus of the company to educate, engage, and entertain, providing a network of support for all creatives involved is the ultimate goal of DearDotNettieMae.
