In this 4 week course you will gain all of the essential skills for hand stitching with beads and sequins. We will begin with the basics and graduate to exploring texture and design possibilities while embellishing patterned fabric.

Abby Langdon

Abby Langdon is a textile artist with more than 15 years of experience creating fiber art in fun, innovative ways. Her career began on the indie craft show circuit in 2008 when she opened her business, abbydid, where she designed and produced plush creatures, mainly monsters, which now dwell (harmlessly) in homes around the world and have been featured in quite a few publications. This focus eventually evolved into 2D and 3D fiber art that appear in gallery shows, art fairs, and commercially commissioned settings. Langdon's techniques and focus are ever-evolving, and now include a millinery business of handmade hats and accessories incorporating traditional techniques.

Learn the contemporary art method of Batik painting! We’ll start with an introductory quilt square design project to learn the basics, then you work at your own pace on your own design that I will help you transform into a beautiful batik!

Pick a shortish quotation or a favorite word or name. It can be inspirational or snarky, silly or serious. We will use paper-backed fusible to write out the words, fuse to fabric, and then to our backgrounds. No sewing required—just your creativity and a whole lot of fun!

Trish Herber

Trish Herbers is a quilt and crochet instructor in Cincinnati, Ohio. Trish grew up in Cincinnati and earned an MS in mathematics and a second MS in statistics at the University of Cincinnati. After working in statistics and data management at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, she has pivoted to creating with fabric and yarn, learning new fiber art techniques, and teaching small group classes. She especially enjoys crocheting amigurumi creatures, sewing pictorial quilts, and sharing her knowledge with others.
